The golden girls club • Piazza del Campo, Siena, Tuscany, Italy

There were many older people in Piazza del Campo in Siena, mixed with young people, kids and tourists. Most of them were in groups of men or women (but not mixed), and seemed like they were enjoying a lovely afternoon socializing with their friends.

I've seen this lovely bunch of older ladies as well, but didn't feel comfortable enough to take a photo. I'm glad Joe did, because it reminds me of my thoughts when I saw

these ladies in the piazza. "They look like my grandmothers", I thought. "The same old fashion cloths, same old fashion shoes, same hairstyle, the same way they carry themselves".

Something from the past was awakened. I sure recognized the old European "something" I remember from my grandparents. All 4 of them are long gone, but a ticklish pleasant reminder went through me in Siena.
