A child's imagination Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada |
|
In his mind, there's a whole world residing in the snow melt puddle. Tress grow upside down there, birds fly deep beneath his feet, sunlight reflects intensely and warm, and whatever he can't see - he looks for with his finger. When he touches the whole world in the snow melt puddle, he plays with it, he changes it, he affects it, he has mighty powers. |
But only when his soaked boots allow the freezing water into his socks - he wrinkles his face, runs to mom and asks her to take them off. The world in the puddle is gone, and with it, for a while, the magic of a child's imagination... Until next time. |
