After the rain • Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

Yea, I know... we're on holidays, so why are we here? The soccer games (Joe is a fan), the painful back (Joe hurt himself Friday night at work), the shitty headache (this belongs to me, darn)... so this morning we're on a very slow mode, and since this photo was waiting patiently in the "Ready to post" folder... here it is, posted *s*.

Lucca was the second destination that day, after Pisa. We had some rain in Pisa, but the skies cleared after a while, so we decided to continue to Lucca, because according to what we read, it was a place worth visiting.

Yea... when it's not raining. We got there in the late afternoon, the rain was pouring, the skies were dark and gray with thick clouds. We took our umbrellas and braved the rain... but... it was too much. It didn't seem to want to go away. So after a short walk, and few photos taken only by Joe (who said we won't go away before he takes a few) we went back to the car and drove back to our resort.

It was a missed opportunity, since Lucca is a very old city surrounded with intact Renaissance-era walls. There was lots to see there, but the rain made it almost impossible to walk around. Oh well... maybe next time *s*.
